Career/Ed Planning
Career Planning
Career planning is a lifelong process of matching your current/foreseeable needs and priorities with the options available to you and re-evaluating your plans as necessary. Wild Rose Career & Employment Services consultants can help walk you through Career Planning steps, including:
- Assessment of skills, interests, values and traits.
- Generating a list of potential career areas to match your assessment results.
- Occupational Research – finding out more about these different careers areas.
- Labour Market Information – exploring the local job market.
You can also find out more by accessing ALIS, the Alberta Learning Information Service.

Education Planning
If your chosen Career Path requires further education or training, additional research is required. Education can be a substantial investment of time and money, and therefore should not be rushed into without knowing all the facts. For example:
- What courses are offered locally?
- What courses or programs are offered in my chosen field?
- How do I get in? What are the admission requirements?
- When is the application deadline?
- How long does the program take?
- Does the program have a work experience program?
- Can I go full-time? Can I go part-time?
- How much does it cost?
Contact Wild Rose Career & Employment Services for additional resources and support in planning your Education or Training.

- Self-Funding
- Support from Family
- Bank or Credit Union Loans
- Government Student Loans
- Scholarships & Bursaries
- Government Grants
Eligibility for loan or grant funding varies.
